Misty Bernall
Misty Bernall chronicled the life and faith of her daughter, Cassie, in the best-selling book, "She Said Yes.‚" In this biographical work, Misty portrays Cassie's transformation from a distraught teenager to her death at Columbine High School after professing faith in Christ. This New York Times Bestseller has sold more than two million copies, been translated into more than twenty languages and received a Christopher Award in 2000.
Since Cassie's death on April 20, 1999, Misty and her husband, Brad, have been sharing Cassie's story around the nation. Together, their testimony details their trials with firm parenting and faith in God that helped bring Cassie to the point where she would rather die than to deny her faith. They express their perspectives on parenting, marriage, grief and Christianity, among other various topics. Misty was also privileged to speak at the Virginia Tech Alumni Association's memorial service following the massacre on April 16, 2007.
Misty is President of the Cassie Bernall Foundation, an organization dedicated to the support of youth ministries and granting annual scholarships. The huge response to her book from our nation's youth has also opened the doors for a correspondence ministry to her readers. She continues to work toward having other books published as well.
Misty earned her B.S. in Business Finance from Regis University in 2004. She and Brad have been married 29 years, share their home with their beloved Bullmastiff, Hoover, and look forward to becoming grandparents in early 2010. The Cassie Bernall Foundation website is cassierenebernall.org.
