There are two great loves of my life. Well . . . okay, three: Jesus, family, and books. I fell in love with reading when a short, Hispanic woman used to read me the classics, such as The Pokey, the Little Puppy and Good Night, Little Bear. (She was my mother.) My love for books never left me. So when I went to Liberty University it seemed only natural that I'd choose a major where I had to read scores of books, write dozens of research papers, take classes such as creative writing and southern fiction, and complete an internship with a publishing house. I also worked at the Liberty University Writers' Conference.
Once I graduated with my BA in English and married the one person I could never get enough of, I was lucky enough to start working as an Associate Editor for Focus on the Family's book publishing department—reading, writing, editing, working with authors, trying to keep up with deadlines, and occasionally taking movie breaks with our editorial team. Since I've been with Focus on the Family, I've worked to develop our Help! line — a series of clear, concise books designed to meet urgent felt needs. I've also been a contributing writer in the Focus books Movie Nights for Kids and Movie Nights for Teens. I've represented Focus on the Family at the Writing for the Soul Conference and the Colorado Christian Writers Conference.
My husband and I make our home in Castle Rock, Colorado, where we live with our mostly skittish but absolutely adorable, orange cat, Georgia, who attempts to beat her own sleeping records each day. When I'm not editing manuscripts, I love traveling, watching movies with Jeff, baking any kind of cheesecake, browsing bookstores, reading (mostly) chick-lit and historical fiction, keeping up with friends online, and writing stories.
