Kurt and Olivia Bruner
Kurt and Olivia Bruner are in the middle of what they call the minivan years, celebrating the hectic joys of parenthood. As co-founders of The Heritage Builders Association, the Bruners motivate parents to become intentional about passing a strong heritage to their children.
Olivia is a former sixth grade teacher who has four children, ages seven to seventeen. A frequent guest on Focus on the Family and other radio programs, Olivia serves on the faculty of the Center for Strong Families and is author of The Minivan Years: Celebrating The Hectic Joys of Motherhood. She is also a co-author with Kurt (of Playstation Nation), How To Mess Up Your Child's Life, as well as the Just Add Family implementation kit.
A graduate of Talbot Seminary, Kurt is pastor of Spiritual Formation at Lake Pointe Church near Dallas and has authored books with combined sales of over 700,000 copies. A former Vice President of Media and Communications for Focus on the Family, Kurt led the teams creating films, magazines, books and radio drama – including the popular Adventures in Odyssey program. He now serves as Executive Director of The Center for Strong Families and leads the Spiritual Formation at Home initiative for the Willow Creek Association. Kurt's two passions bubble up through his writings. The first is encountering God in unexpected places, as reflected in books including The Divine Drama, Inklings of God and the best-selling Finding God in the Lord of the Rings. The Second is spiritual formation at home, reflected in books, such as A Parent's Guide to the Spiritual Growth of Children, Your Heritage, and best-selling Family Night Tool Chest series.
