What I look for in my literary agent is the person who will create the bridge between the inner, creative, somewhat reclusive world in which I both write and live, and the very public, competitive, commercial world where my writing has to go if anyone is to read it. Chip does this for me. He is experienced, he keeps up to date - he is interested in his work and passionate about it, and that shows.
Penelope Wilcock
The great thing about Chip is there aren't many things about this industry he doesn't know about. He's well-liked, he's transparent and witty, and he's a compassionate soul. If a week goes by and we haven't communicated, he'll send an email just to ask how I am and how he can be praying for me.
I trust Chip; his judgment, his instincts and his heart for what he does. I think he really loves what he's doing right now. He's been a writer and an editor but agenting is what he loves best. And I think it shows.
